Do you track what I search for?
No. We do not assign search history to your account, we do not profile your interests, and we do not use tracking identifiers. Your search queries are processed to deliver results and are not saved in any way that could identify you.
Do you use cookies?
MevaSearch uses Local Storage and Cookies exclusively for essential functionality. These are used strictly to:
- Keep you logged in: So you don't have to re-authenticate every time you open your browser.
- Remember your settings: Such as your language preferences, search filters, or interface customization.
Crucially, this data stays on your device. We do not use these technologies to track your behavior across other websites or to build a profile for advertisers.
What is PriviMetrics?
It is our proprietary, self-hosted analytical tool. Unlike Big Tech analytics, PriviMetrics operates without tracking identifiers. It collects only anonymous, aggregated data (such as total visit counts and approximate country) to help us improve the service while ensuring your search habits remain 100% private.
What makes MevaSearch results different from other search engines?
MevaSearch uses an independent approach. While we utilize the Brave Search API as a primary source, we supplement it with our proprietary WebAtlas DB index. This allows us to deliver high-quality results without relying on Google or Bing's tracking-heavy ecosystems.
What is msX Guard?
It is our built-in security layer. msX Guard scans search results in real-time for phishing attempts and malicious software. If a site is known to be dangerous, we flag it before you click, adding an extra layer of protection to your browsing.
Do you have "Filter Bubbles"?
Absolutely not. Traditional search engines show you what they think you want to see based on your profile. MevaSearch delivers raw, unmanipulated results. Everyone searching for the same term sees the same information.
Why is MevaSearch a paid service?
Running an independent search engine requires significant infrastructure and indexing costs. Most "free" engines cover these costs by selling your data. By charging a small subscription fee, we ensure that you are the client, and our only loyalty is to your privacy.
Can I use MevaSearch on multiple devices?
Yes. Since your subscription is tied to your account, you can log in and enjoy private searching on your desktop, smartphone, and tablet simultaneously.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You will have access to MevaSearch until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to a restricted state. We do not keep your payment data after account deletion.
I can't log in. What should I do?
First, ensure that you haven't disabled Cookies or Local Storage for MevaSearch.com, as these are required to maintain your session. If the problem persists, contact us at support[at]weborbiton.com.
How do I set MevaSearch as my default engine?
We provide simple, step-by-step guides for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Brave within your user dashboard. It usually takes less than 30 seconds to make the switch.
How is my payment information handled?
We use Gumroad as our primary payment processor. MevaSearch never sees or stores your full credit card details. Your payment is handled on Gumroad’s secure infrastructure, ensuring top-tier financial security.
Is MevaSearch available as an app?
Currently, MevaSearch is a web-based engine optimized for all mobile and desktop browsers. You can add it to your home screen as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for a native-like experience without the need for invasive app permissions.
